The Problem

Bivacco is a bold Italian restaurant overlooking Auckland’s harbour—designed for long lunches, vibrant dinners, and weekend feasts. But all that hard-surface glamour came with a catch: poor acoustics were creating overwhelming echo and disrupting the dining experience.

Goals

  • Improve acoustical performance and reduce echoes
  • Improve speech intelligibility and communication
  • Improve customer comfort and experience

Challenges

→ Implement acoustic products without detracting from original design
→ Complete the install without disrupting lunch and dinner service

What Are Poor Acoustics Costing You?

When diners struggle to hear each other, they won’t stay long, and they may not return. Book an Acoustic Appraisal with our expert team and get a tailored plan to reduce noise, improve comfort, and elevate your venue’s experience.

Key Results

  • Implemented an acoustic solution without disrupting service

Solution

After conducting a thorough acoustic appraisal, our team delivered a custom solution to suit this space. We installed Autex Quietspace acoustic ceiling tiles to help absorb excess sound and reduce reverberation. We chose black tiles for a subtle, sleek look that complements the existing interior design of the restaurant.

Customers can now enjoy easier conversations and a more relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Restaurant staff can also enjoy a less stressful and more productive work environment.

“I really enjoyed working with Damon and the team on this project. Their technical advice and assistance with specifications bridged the gap between manufacturer and designer. Looking forward to more successful projects in the future.”
