There’s nothing quite like the old school; things were built differently in the old days, focusing on crafting quality goods with a high degree of craftsmanship made for a lifetime of use. All of this paved the way to becoming timeless classics, a quality that seems hard to find in today’s modern age.

Designer Light Switches Australia

For us at Designer Light Switches, we’ve seen a resurgence in homemakers reenvisioning their homes with small pieces of timeless classics. We meet them halfway through this renaissance and bring a modern touch to these classic light switches. The Vintage Toggle Switch range from Vimar's Eikon Exe series.

The humble vintage toggle switch heritage dates back to the early 20th century, not too many years after Edison created the light bulb. During this time, the toggle switch opened and closed the circuit, allowing electricity to flow into the home's lighting. These early designed toggle switches were typically made from brass or copper, requiring some force to activate and making a notable ‘click’. These earlier designs were built for lifetimes of servitude and can sometimes, though rarely, be found operating in pre-war buildings undergoing renovation.

The Vimar Vintage Toggle switches build upon these features, created with high-quality craftsmanship to deliver robust design and nostalgic aesthetic.

The Vintage range offers designers a range of classic metal bodies and knobs, such as gold, copper, bronze and nickel. All are provided with options for polished and brushed finishing. Homeowners can also select gang switch options from single to three gang toggle switches, expanding their control with dimming and multi-location control.

The vintage range's simplistic design offers practical functionality with a modern twist. All Vimar switches can be integrated with home automation protocols, allowing users to control lighting settings, curtains, HVAC, and other automated home comforts.

Like the timeless classics, the Vimar Vintage range is designed with the highest degree of Italian craftsmanship and quality to ensure that these vintage toggle switches remain reliable for a lifetime.
