With four beautifully appointed office buildings in its South Brisbane urban precinct, integrated property group Growthpoint desired a redesign for its end-of -trip facilities that would align the space with the associated buildings and supply much-needed amenities for joggers, cyclists and others to prepare for the day ahead. “This meant expanding its offerings and enhancing the overall visual appeal and user experience,” says Melanie Johnson, Interior Designer at Gray Puksand. As such, a combination of light and dark finishes from EGGER’s wood décor range were selected to impart warmth and sophistication, bringing a contemporary aesthetic to the interior design.
EGGER wood décor products were an obvious choice for the main employed material, says Melanie, “due to their exceptional attributes”. EGGER’s Vicenza Oak is used for benches, seating, lockers and disposal bins while EGGER’s Compact Laminate in Anthracite Jura Slate is used for the shower and toilet partitions. Feature colours from EGGER’s vast range were also incorporated, such as Black for the undermount basins, cupboards and storage spaces; Light Grey Chicago Concrete for the steamer area and long-line cupboard; and Cashmere Grey for storage areas and benches. The combined effect imbues the space with a new contemporary aesthetic.
“The wood-based products from EGGER not only brought impressive detail to a sophisticated design, but also showcased cool tones, playing a vital role in the overall design concept,” Melanie explains. “The EGGER products seamlessly complemented the narrative of sustainability, harmonising perfectly with the introduction of the first-ever Bradley touchless wash bars in Brisbane.” The sustainable qualities of the EGGER products were a primary consideration during the job specification, Melanie adds. “Gray Puksand was delighted to collaborate with a client who shared a passion for environmental consideration and consciousness, leading the design language towards quality, sustainability and sophistication.”
Throughout the specification process, Gray Puksand leaned on ForestOne for its understanding of design and sustainability. “ForestOne consistently demonstrates an unwavering commitment to providing authentic knowledge and assistance,” Melanie explains, “regardless of project calibre or complexity.” With an understanding that architects and designers need access to larger samples and in situ project photography, ForestOne helped Gray Puksand to eliminate the guesswork while also allowing “us to focus on other critical design aspects,” says Melanie. With this additional support from ForestOne during the specification process, Gray Puksand was able to deliver a space where “simplicity was met with intrigue and unified by quality materials and finishes.”
