Great Barrier Home

This new house designed in Great Barrier Island, New Zealand is a stunning example of modern architecture that perfectly blends in with its dramatic natural surroundings. The design incorporates materials that are sympathetic to the local scenery, giving it a traditional Kiwiana beach house look, while also adding a touch of Japanese modern architecture that creates an elegant and sophisticated feel.

The layout of the house is both functional and stylish, with two bedrooms, a bathroom, and modern open plan living, kitchen, and dining areas. The large glass windows and doors connect the indoor and outdoor living spaces, extending the living area to the covered deck area. This creates a seamless transition between the interior and exterior of the house, allowing for stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

The use of natural materials gives the house a warm and inviting feel, while also adding to its overall aesthetic appeal. The traditional Kiwiana beach house look is evident in the use of wood paneling and the monopitch roof design, which is typical of beach houses in New Zealand.

The incorporation of Japanese modern architecture adds a unique and contemporary touch to the design, with clean lines and minimalistic forms that create a sense of tranquility and simplicity. This is particularly evident in the open plan living, kitchen, and dining areas, which have a minimalist feel with a focus on functionality and simplicity.
