This project is a standalone guest quarters and natural swimming pool comprising a self-contained 50sq. m single bedroom accommodation building. The complex was constructed a short stroll from the ‘Hill Plains House’, the existing off grid Wolveridge family home of around 180m2. The Home was constructed on virgin land and was heavily influenced by the Victorian agricultural buildings that are common in the area, long simple structures.
The entire property has no grid connected services. All the services run off solar panels with backup batteries. The building has achieved an 8 star energy rating. The spaces are compact. In the winter, the cottage is very easy to heat via slow combustion wood fire and a high bank of thermal mass.
