"Perfect home for Modern Day Living"
Located on a corner block at O'Neill St, Lilyfield, this contemporary rear extension to a single-storey terrace provides its owners the accommodation for a growing family. The proposal aims to be sympathetic to the original form of the existing residence while designed for open plan living in the tight urban context.
The challenge for this design was to provide sufficient accommodation on a tight narrow block while respecting the form and character of its surroundings. The solution was to retain a section of the 2nd-floor addition under the existing roof while adding a small rear extension with a glass connection.
