Limestone House

The Limestone House in Toorak by Wardle is an exemplary residence that marries luxurious design with innovative sustainability. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the house embodies the rigorous standards of Passivhaus and the Living Building Challenge, ensuring energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. The exterior's understated colour palette and natural materials create a timeless aesthetic, while the custom batten façade adds a touch of modern sophistication. A standout feature of the house is its advanced sun shading solutions, essential for maintaining indoor comfort and energy efficiency. External Venetian blinds by Warema, installed on all north, east, and west-facing windows, provide precise sun control throughout the day. These motorised blinds, with 80mm unbeaded slats and cable guidance, blend seamlessly with the home’s architecture. An external conservatory awning further enhances the functionality, shading the asymmetrical skylight and adding to the home's sustainable design. Internally, Shade Factor's roller blinds in silk white offer both privacy and solar reflection, contributing to the house's energy savings.  The integration of a Warema Climatronic control system ensures the sun shading aligns with the sun’s path, optimising interior comfort. The combination of these features not only boosts the home's energy efficiency but also enhances the comfort and livability of its spaces, making Limestone House a remarkable example of thoughtful and sustainable residential design.
