Mirabello reinterprets Mediterranean architecture for Brisbane’s subtropical climate. Curved forms, terracotta tones and abundant natural light create a sense of warmth and calm, while generous openings strengthen the relationship between the interiors, outdoor spaces and surrounding landscape. European influence is balanced with an unmistakably Australian ease. Built by O’Shea & Sons Builders, Mirabello is a relaxed and enduring family home designed equally for entertaining, everyday living and quiet retreat.

A rough stone arch marks the entry, framing the timber gate and the curved screen above.

Oak, fluting and an arched mirror set the tone from the moment the door opens.

Globe pendants trace the island, with the dining table and pool beyond in one continuous space.

The island curves to soften the room — marble over fluted timber, with zellige behind the cooktop.

Two islands share the work: one for prep, one for gathering.

Fluted oak shelving anchors the living room without crowding it.

Close up, the fluting reads as texture rather than decoration.

The living room hands off to the alfresco through a full wall of glass.

A lit oak niche breaks the run of joinery in the upstairs hall.

Exposed oak beams and a kitchenette make the upper living room a retreat of its own.

An arched window and full fluted wall give the main bedroom its calm.

Stone in two textures wraps the bathroom, with a curved bath at its centre.

The ensuite pairs walnut with stone, lit from behind for softness.

The robe runs the full length of the room and opens straight through to the ensuite.

The upper balcony is a quiet corner, screened and open to the treetops.

The whole rear of the home opens to the lawn — alfresco, dining and kitchen in one line.

An arched, tiled nook turns the barbecue into part of the architecture.

From the water, the arched batten screen reads as the home's signature gesture.

Sauna and cold plunge sit under cover beside the pool — wellness built into the everyday.

Lawn, pool and terrace share the yard without any one of them dominating.

From above, the curved screen wraps the upper level and rooftop solar sits out of sight.
