This project involves a comprehensive revitalization of beachfront property in Takapuna, combining coastal aesthetics with the transformation of an existing early 2000s plaster house. It includes a comprehensive reclad, internal alterations, and the addition of a new garage and apartment, all with a keen eye on celebrating the natural beauty of the location. Drawing inspiration from the coastal environment, the exterior showcases weathered natural timber cladding that weathers with time, mirroring the rugged coastal landscape, while silver Colorsteel tray cladding adds a contemporary touch, reflecting the ocean's shimmer. Timber screens and channel glass invite playful exploration with natural and dappled light, enhancing the connection to the coastal surroundings while maintaining privacy and framing breathtaking views of the reef and Rangitoto Island. A standout feature includes a dramatic gable cantilever extending over the new garage, adding both functional shelter and a visual statement to the design. In essence, this project aims to capture the untamed beauty of the coast, fostering a connection with the ever-changing marine landscape.

DRAWN is a collaborative architectural design studio, based in a multi-disciplinary design space in Ponsonby, Tāmaki Makaurau. Started in 2012 as a draughting company, DRAWN has since grown into a team of designers and technicians who can deliver projects ranging from small scale; tiny homes, renovations and commercial fit-outs, to larger scale projects such as new builds, multi-unit housing developments, and town planning.

At DRAWN we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of collaboration and growth. We are constantly engaging with new design philosophies in order to face the challenges of climate change, building costs, energy efficiency and sustainability. We are committed to realizing the creative vision of our clients - from first meeting, through design, and to completion.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
