The Gordon & Geelong Tech.

Designed for secondary students from 21 participating schools, the Geelong Tech School is a high-tech STEM oriented facility located at The Gordon Tafe City Campus.

The new built dedicated two-storey facility offers a series of agile, activity-rich Studio and Specialist Lab settings suited to individual & small group collaborative learning.

Supporting the studios and labs, a multiple format mix of Presentation and Industry engagement spaces serve to unify and ground the educational offering, fostering peer learning across schools and connecting students to the wider community and future pathways.

On the premise that every space is a learning space, circulation was designed as exhibit and breakout areas for self-directed focus and study.

A generously scaled Inquiry & Breakout Spine links the Little Malop Arrivals Lobby & Staff Work precinct to each of the Tech School provisions and connects at the other end to a glazed atrium link overlooking the Gordon central Courtyard with an open stair down to ground floor. This central spine, replicated across both floors, not only provides clear wayfinding and legibility but also serves to heighten and augment the Geelong Tech School learning experience as activated and dynamic spaces in their own right.
