Unex Hampton Balustrades

A tailored aluminium balustrade and screening solution designed to provide safety, durability, and architectural consistency within one of New Zealand's tallest primary schools. Designed by Jasmax, Onehunga Primary School is a four-storey learning environment created to support flexible, modern education. The development required balustrade and screening systems that could withstand the demands of a high-use public facility while integrating seamlessly with the building's contemporary architecture. UNEX Systems supplied 185 lineal metres of Hampton aluminium balustrades across stairways and deck areas, along with a custom 3.8m-high aluminium stair screen. Finished in Dulux powder-coated colours, the systems provide a durable, low-maintenance solution while maintaining a refined architectural appearance throughout the school. The project incorporated site-specific design requirements to meet the performance demands of an educational environment, including high-traffic loading conditions and fall prevention considerations. UNEX worked closely with the project team to deliver a compliant solution that balanced safety, functionality, and visual appeal.
