Rusticated horizontal weatherboards, sometimes referred to as horizontal shiplap, were a derivative of the traditional bevel backboard.  The rusticated profile traditionally has a distinctive scalloped rebate and is reminiscent of rural buildings.  This profile is renowned for its strength and robustness.

Modern machining methods have enabled manufacturers to modify this profile further to create a variety of lap detailing and offer a myriad of options to suit the needs of designers and end users whatever the context.  Be it a narrow profiled modular design; wide-boarded, bold pavilion or random width and depth feature wall.

With a choice of either dressed face or bandsawn face and a range of wood oil coating options, the finish and colour can be manipulated to suit most tastes and to respond to whatever environment the building may be found.

Rosenfeld Kidson has developed a number of innovative junction details for this system, improving aesthetics, ease of installation and weather-tight performance.

The Cedarscreen Rusticated system comprises of either direct fixed or 20mm cavity system, both CodeMark certified, which independently verifies compliance with all relevant performance and durability requirements of the Building Code.
