Curve House is a renovation to a Heritage-listed Federation home (c.1905) in South Yarra. The design brief was to open up and reconnect it to its lush garden setting at the rear of the property.
A beautiful grand dame of a building, our solution was to first fix the poor flow towards the rear living areas and create multiple vantage points to the garden. This was then enhanced via a careful selection of materials and details that respectfully reference the grandeur of the original home within the new spaces. Finally, the curated use of texture and colour references the lush rear garden and successfully blurs the boundaries between inside and outside.
