Moorooka Alterations and Extension
Our renovation and extension project in Moorooka faces towards an industrial area and the Archerfield Airport, beyond which sits expansive views towards the Great Dividing Range.
Here, changes are of an internal nature, with the deck angled to chase the beautiful sunsets.
Internally, we have focussed on ratifying the available space on the First Floor. Like many homes of the era, there are three bedrooms, modest Kitchen/Living/Dining spaces, and the very common toilet visible from the Living Room situation. We have condensed and rearranged space so that we still have three Bedrooms, but now have enough room to fit in a Master Ensuite and WIR, on top of having a separate Bathroom and WC, plus a Laundry. Within the wet areas we will have a bit of fun with the colours and textures - and we aim to weave some hemp masonry as a feature highlight within the home as well.
Things are compact, yes, but with a view like that - the house itself can be quiet and modest, and it can still feel generous, welcoming and downright lovely to live in.

We are a vibrant, creative and passionate architectural practice based in Brisbane, Australia.
First established in 2016, we see ourselves as the next link, inspired by - and walking in the footsteps of - generous, creative and selfless architects who have practiced before us.
Architects who may not necessarily be esteemed or celebrated, who may or may not be exhibited or featured in coffee table books,
but in pursuing great design they have quietly, unassumingly touched countless lives in their craft and service.
We are intentional and counter-cultural in our work - in how we serve our clients, in how we relate as a team, how we advocate for those in need, and how we gauge our success.
We are not satisfied with the status quo. We don’t need our name up in lights.
Our buildings are a physical outcome of our passion - to see people live well, to come home to an environment of peace and rest,
and thus empowered to demonstrate generous hospitality.
