Corinda

Sitting on an extraordinary site with West-facing vistas of the Brisbane River (Maiwar), this project provided us a unique design challenge - how to maximise the the home's outdoor connection, yet protect from excessive heat gain and glare.

For this luxury home, we came up with three initial visions - from which we began developing a multi-generational home with generous entertaining areas. The entry is marked by a framed courtyard and a curved wall, before the visitors are pulled towards the beauty of the available views. This is further highlighted with generous double-height void living space, plus an entertainer’s kitchen with hidden butler's pantry and laundry, dining room with drinks bar, a library overlooking the evening lights of Archerfield, and a yoga room and lap pool. A separate Parents’ Retreat area is tucked in the North-Eastern corner of the site, with views to the pool and its own pocket of the garden to enjoy.

Upstairs, the Master Retreat is uniquely located to look both up and downstream. Other bedrooms take advantage of glimpses of Archerfield and the city beyond.

About the
Professional

We are a vibrant, creative and passionate architectural practice based in Brisbane, Australia.

First established in 2016, we see ourselves as the next link, inspired by - and walking in the footsteps of - generous, creative and selfless architects who have practiced before us.
Architects who may not necessarily be esteemed or celebrated, who may or may not be exhibited or featured in coffee table books,
but in pursuing great design they have quietly, unassumingly touched countless lives in their craft and service.

We are intentional and counter-cultural in our work - in how we serve our clients, in how we relate as a team, how we advocate for those in need, and how we gauge our success.
We are not satisfied with the status quo. We don’t need our name up in lights.

Our buildings are a physical outcome of our passion - to see people live well, to come home to an environment of peace and rest,
and thus empowered to demonstrate generous hospitality.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
