This extensive EnerPHit renovation has created a beautiful house and has taken top Master Builders Award. Bruyere Builders have won the 2022 Local Supreme Renovation of the Year award.

The existing home was dismantled down to the solid concrete core structure and re-instated as new to the highest possible specification. The guiding principal behind the project was to build the most healthy, comfortable and high quality home possible to the global state of the art. Optimisation of the air, light, sound, water and thermal properties deliver on this objective. The effect of this needs to be experienced to be understood. These project goals aligned perfectly with the expertise of eminent New Zealand architect, Sang Architects who have done an outstanding job. The objectives were achieved with state of the art computer modelling by Environmental Engineering and benchmarked to the most prestigious German “green building” standards. This house is the first PassivHaus Enerfit certified renovation in New Zealand. Every material was meticulously considered with an emphasis on quality and longevity. The home was built on a cost plus contract with a PassivHaus builder so that the focus was on quality, not time and cost. Most of the money has been spent where you don’t see it but where you will enjoy it with all of your other senses.
