A contemporary, site-responsive home designed for a mature couple, featuring a small footprint, generous spaces, and thoughtful design elements that ensure comfort and accessibility, inspired by local boathouse architecture.
Point Lonsdale I is a site-responsive, contemporary home for a mature couple to enjoy into their retirement. The project has a small footprint with spatial generosity and a connection to the garden. Subtle design elements have been included to accommodate the owners such as integrated grab rails as towel rails, single level dwelling, generous passageway and bedrooms and potential future carer accommodation. The dynamic gable forms are inspired by the local context of former boathouses, using cambered trusses to create high ceilings while maintaining a low form below the coastal vegetation of the area.
