Following a comprehensive Feasibility Study process, a new modernised and expanded capacity Anatomy fitout was carried out by Vincent Chrisp at RMIT’s Bundoora Campus.

Human anatomy is a key component of 5 different courses across various disciplines within the School of Health & Biomedical Sciences, taught at the Bundoora Campus from a specialist facility in Building 201 to over 1,850 students per semester, typically across large cohorts of over 300 students.

The project involved redevelopment of the existing facility into a Digital Human Biosciences Facility for Anatomy with Mortuary. All wet lab areas involving human cadavers remained operational throughout the duration, and in compliance with anatomy licensing requirements.

The design created much larger laboratory teaching spaces to deliver increased capacity classes and leveraged new digital teaching methodologies as a state-of-the-art education environment commensurate with its re-envisioned curriculum.
