Soundsplash Festival: A 20-year celebration of music and community at Wainui Reserve, featuring resource consenting and logistical planning to enhance attendee experience while maintaining environmental integrity.
Soundsplash is a boutique multi-genre festival that has been happening in Raglan for 20 years. Held at the picturesque Wainui Reserve, this 3 day festival has been bringing the manaakitanga and good vibes to the thousands of its attendees. With its ongoing commitment to support distinguished kiwi acts as well as showcase kiwi rising talent too, combined with its Zero Waste Policy – it has become of NZ’s most popular summer festivals.
Events like this don’t just happen without a lot of careful consideration and logistical work, and for Feathers Planning we needed to make sure that all consents were gained in time before the event.
The popularity of the events we have gained resource consents for have proved so successful that the event organizer needed to increase ticketholder numbers. In response we obtained a variation to extend the number of ticketholders, and for an upgraded transport service to mitigate the subsequent boost to vehicle movements, and any associated increases in noise – thereby ensuring that these increases were insignificant to the environment and it’s surrounds.
