Working within a compact footprint, the design responds to the demands of high-volume hospitality through a clear and intuitive spatial sequence centred around an 11 metre toppings bar. Curved forms and layered elements guide circulation naturally through the space, while smaller seating pockets create moments of pause within the open plan environment. A restrained palette of timber, stone and softened finishes balances the vibrant energy of the offering, creating an atmosphere that feels both playful and composed. Colour plays a defining role within the interior. A custom Resene Effects finish using ‘Foundation’ and ‘Sesame’ tones introduces depth and subtle variation across the north wall, allowing the space to shift in tone throughout the day as natural light moves through the interior. Grounded within its beachside context on Mount Mainstreet, Yomi embraces a relaxed informality where sandy feet and wet togs are welcome, while maintaining a refined and enduring spatial quality.
