Elevated seating: designer armchairs redefining opulence

Designed by legendary Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the Mad collection combines wit with functionality, including comfortable chairs with overscaled high backs, reading chairs with round all-encompassing backs and the petite tub armchair - all available as swivel base options.

Wander’s first piece in this collection was the Mad Chair, first unveiled at Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2013. He went on to design the Mad Dining Table, the Mad Chaise and the Mad Joker Chair.

The Mad Joker, with its tall backrest, added a new character to the family. Because of its compact size, this chair wonderfully fits multiple spaces of various dimensions, while still being very comfortable, enveloping the user and providing privacy. The Mad Joker comes in a solid wood base or a spinning base in die-cast aluminium and features a removable cover in fabric or leather.

The Mad King and the Mad Queen chairs joined this youthful collection, now seen in some of the finest residences around the world.

Inspired by the voluminous club armchairs of the last century, Le Club reinterprets one of the archetypes of design with a contemporary approach. Designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, the organic shape of Le Club oozes classic, yet casual, elegance and synthesises craftsmanship with technology. Le Club is a timeless piece that suits residential and commercial spaces and comes in leather or fabric covers.

Also by Jean-Marie Massaud, the Kay with its clean lines blends seamlessly with minimalist interiors. Covered in fabric or leather, the Kay works as a standalone feature chair in any lounge or bedroom or can be paired up to accommodate further seating options in living rooms or communal spaces.

Santa Monica by Jean-Marie Massaud is a chic and casual chair expressing different personalities with removable slipcovers. This is a perfect piece for homeowners who like to mix and match fabrics, cushions and accessories or redecorate according to the seasons. There is also a swivel-based option which will come as a surprise to the user when relaxing in this comfortable piece.

Kaori is a new designer chair by Jean-Marie Massaud, oozing elegance and sophistication. The Kaori features two perfectly integrated shells - the outer one in leather, and the inner one softly padded and upholstered in fabric or leather. Its visual appeal matches the comfort of the seat. The option to play with fabric and leather for upholstery creates interest and texture in any living space.

The new wooden Curve armchair designed by Emmanuel Gallina captivates with soft lines and a light structure and blends perfectly with mid-century interiors. Elegance, clarity and simplicity are key to Emmanuel Gallina’s work based on the mantra “simplicity is complexity resolved”.
