At a time where architecture and design is constantly changing and pushing boundaries, stone offerings have remained largely unchanged. Stone Age Australia is changing that.

Although a relatively new name locally, the Stone Age group has been well-known across other parts of the world including Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America for close to 40 years, providing landscape products, natural stone slabs, handcrafted surfaces and textured stone finishes for hotels, retail and high-end residential projects.

The brand introduces a new perspective to the local market: one that combines direct access to world-class quarries and manufacturing with highly specialised stone craftsmanship rarely seen in Australia. From textured stone surfaces that transform how light interacts within a space, to handcrafted slabs inlaid with brass and semi-precious materials, the company is offering architects and designers an entirely new toolkit for creative expression.

Unlike many suppliers operating through multiple intermediaries, Stone Age Australia maintains control across the entire process. “We own the majority of the landscape products that we sell around the world. They come out of our own quarries and they’re processed in our own manufacturing facilities,” says Stone Age Australia’s Harry Rabiee. This approach means the quality of every product is overseen in-house from start to finish to delivery, while also removing unnecessary mark-ups. “There’s no middleman in anything we do.”

“We believe the Australian design market is ready for this new level of innovation in natural stone slab finishes,” says Harry.
These reflect Stone Age has a commitment to responsible sourcing, quality and ethical supply practices, with accreditations including Stone Federation membership, ISO 9001, SAI/SA8000, CE marking, and Ethical Stone Register verification.

Bringing new stone designs to Australia

One of Stone Age’s most distinctive offerings is the Arai Collection. Showcasing the raw beauty of natural stone through a range of textured finishes, the collection is rich in surface expression, adding visual depth to both interior and exterior applications. From the earthy Gritto finish which enhances the stone’s inherent organic qualities to the striking Frizzle finish, which intensifies veining and interacts beautifully with natural light, each brings a new dimension to stone finishes.

“We believe the Australian design market is ready for this new level of innovation in natural stone slab finishes.”

Originally used extensively throughout luxury hotels, hospitality projects and retail environments in Europe and the Middle East, these textured surfaces are now beginning to appear within Australian high-end residential projects, from feature walls and kitchen islands to outdoor pool backdrops and seamless indoor-outdoor applications.

A statement in stone, this intricate 3D feature wall is composed on Smoke Grey Marble, Sea Grey Limestone and Bianco Carrara Marble, meticulously layered and sculpted to create a flowing wave-like surface.

Introducing the artistry of ORVI

For high-end projects where a standard stone finish is not enough, Stone Age has also introduced the ORVI Collection, allowing designers to bring more detailed and highly personalised concepts to life, combining natural stone colours with hand-inlaid detailing to create premium surfaces that are truly unique in Australia.

A true celebration of the craftsmanship Stone Age has honed over decades, the ORVI Collection is unlike anything else. Handcrafted by highly trained artisans, these surfaces combine multiple stone types, brass inlays and intricate detailing techniques. Some pieces can incorporate several natural stones within a single slab, assembled entirely by hand using specialised methods passed through dedicated artisan training programs.

With near-unlimited possibilities, it opens up creative potential. “Our designers work with interior designers with their vision through the project until the surfaces are made.”

The collection is less about supplying a particular product and more about enabling bespoke creative visions.

Every single piece is individually shaped, finished and detailed by skilled artisans, creating a facade system with depth, movement and texture that simply cannot be replicated through mass production.
The cladding features hand carved Nero Marquina marble from Spain with brass inlaid by the master artisans.

A new design language

More than a supplier, Stone Age has become a creative partner for architects, interior designers and landscape designers searching for new ways to work with natural materials.

Whether through textured finishes, handcrafted stone artistry or direct access to globally sourced premium slabs, the company’s focus remains the same: expanding what is creatively possible with stone.

“We’re here to give designers the tools they need for them to be more creative.”
