Custom Hampton Balustrades and Handrails for a Mixed-Use Development in Wanaka
Seven custom Hampton balustrade variations, each with its own site-specific PS1, delivered across a mixed-use commercial development in North Wanaka.
Built by Cook Brothers Construction, the Northlake project needed a complete balustrade and handrail package that could flex across different areas of a mixed-use site while keeping a consistent look. UNEX drew on its Hampton, Finline, and Topline ranges, modifying the Hampton bottom rail to produce seven distinct designs suited to the site's varied requirements.
To keep fixings out of view, UNEX developed custom angle brackets for the solid bottom rails and concealed fixing channels, working with local engineering firms on assembly and installation at scale. Inset Leada handrails were added to the external stairways for safety and to carry the same detailing through the exterior circulation spaces.
Viewtec, the authorised UNEX installer in Wanaka, handled fabrication and installation on site.
