5 undeniable reasons you need an electric fireplace in your design

2. Customisable aesthetics

In addition to its versatile installation options, flame-effect electric fireplaces offer many customisation choices to suit aesthetic preferences. You can personalise the fireplace with distinct media bed options and flame colours to reflect a unique style. Whether creating the rustic charm of a traditional fireplace or the serene ambience of a beachside retreat, a modern electric fireplace allows you to curate the ideal atmosphere for your space.

“With our new Ignite XL Bold, the update in the media bed options includes driftwood with river rock or Alpine forest, which all link back to a project our designers undertook to create realistic fire designs,” says Oaks.

“Over the past few years, our designers collected logs, branches, rocks and various pieces from within our natural environment, like the bush and beaches. We used these to replicate the pieces in our media beds to create a connection between our fires and the local Australian landscape,” says Oaks.

"The customisable options, from the media bed to the flame effect colour, allow homeowners and specifiers to tailor the Ignite XL Bold to their desired look and feel," remarks Oaks. "Whether you prefer the seaside allure of driftwood with river rocks or the natural landscape of Alpine forest, this fireplace offers endless possibilities for customisation."

3. Heating

While traditional wood-burning and gas fireplaces may offer ample warmth, they often come with additional installation costs. Electric installation does not require adding flueing or gas connections, making it easier and less costly. In contrast, modern electric fireplaces combine heating with eco-friendly technology, boasting a mere 2kW heater that delivers cosy warmth without needing natural resources or extensive maintenance.

"The Ignite XL Bold provides efficient heating to the room with minimal installation costs," says Oaks. "Unlike wood-burning or gas fireplaces, which rely on flue installation, this electric fireplace offers a sustainable heating solution for modern homeowners."

4. Year-round ambience

One of the most compelling features of including electric fireplaces in design, particularly in warmer locations in Australia, is the year-round enjoyment––with or without heat. Whether seeking warmth on chilly evenings or simply craving the soothing ambience of a flickering flame, this fireplace caters to your preferences with its flame effect-only option and art-like display.

"With an electric fireplace, you can enjoy the mesmerising flame effect all year round," says Oaks. "Whether you're hosting guests or unwinding after a long day, you can bask in the beauty of a realistic flame without the accompanying heat."

“Currently, the market offering leans toward vertically slim fires with a short viewing area; we wanted to introduce a range that expanded the height of the fire and opened that vertical viewing space. The Ignite XL Bold was our solution.”

5. Minimal maintenance

Electric fireplaces are a fast way to add interest and atmosphere to a space. They offer seamless integration. In contrast to traditional fireplaces, which require complex venting systems or extensive upkeep, electric fireplaces require minimal maintenance. The simplicity lies in the easy-to-clean glass and no-fuss operation directly on the unit or via the remote or App.

"The installation process for the Ignite XL Bold is straightforward. Whether inserting it into a wall or building it out in your living room, the process is hassle-free, allowing homeowners to enjoy their fireplace with minimal effort," says Oaks.

As the future of electric fireplaces continues to evolve, the Ignite XL Bold stands at the forefront of innovation, offering desirable flexibility, customisable aesthetics and efficient heating for year-round enjoyment.
