Go monochrome

It’s easy to be overwhelmed by bathroom tile ideas. Especially in a small bathroom, it can be a good idea to keep things simple by focusing on one colour group – and this doesn't have to mean white. Pull a colour that has been used throughout the rest of the home or make the most of a neutral palette, which won’t interfere with other styling choices – keeping the space feeling fresh and still relevant in the years to come.

Bring the outdoors in

Nature is well known for improving our health and general wellbeing – making it a great addition to a space that we go to relax. To relax even more in your bathtub, use skylights and windows to let natural light flow through, or even add in a living green wall. Various ferns, snake plants and peace lilies – amongst others – can work well in a bathroom environment.

Play with texture

One of today’s modern bathroom trends is adding in surfaces that make you want to reach out and touch them. Think concrete, stone and raw edges. Texture can be introduced through modern bathroom tiles, or even with a concrete or stone basin.

Add curves

Straight lines might come to mind when thinking about a modern-style bathroom, but adding curved forms can add a hint of luxuriousness. Soaking in a round bathtub for example, will make you feel like it’s a day at the spa. It’s even said that curved lines make you feel calm and balanced.
