“Do your own design,” they said. “It’ll save you heaps,” they said. But what are you really saving by doing your own design and what could you be missing out on by going it alone?

Home renovations are an expensive business, so no wonder people are always looking for ways to cut costs. But trimming the fat in the wrong places can become a pricey exercise and end up costing you dear – not just in dollars, but also in time.
So, let’s look at the five biggest advantages of hiring a design-renovate business (like us!) who can handle everything for you…
Everyone is on the same team
Clear accountability and leadership is key with a renovation project. And when it comes to design and renovation there’s a lot of moving parts and plenty of room for confusion. A design-renovate business provides a single source of leadership, so that everyone is managed by us – taking the stress away from you. We have a close-knit network of vetted designers, tradies and suppliers who know us and have been part of our renovation team for years. They are an incredible supporting cast!
Realistic estimates
If you try to tackle your own design work, it’s easy for costs to snowball. Working with our design-renovation team means that once your concept plans are signed off, we can provide an initial build estimate, so you have a good idea of what your project will cost upfront. Our designers are able to steer you in the right direction during the planning process to ensure you get maximum bang for your buck. We also have an in-depth knowledge of construction and material costs, so can keep the guesswork and the stress out of the budget!
Make the most of your space
By using our in-house designers, you get detailed concept plans drawn up of your ideal home. We can figure out together which aspects of your current home you want to retain, whilst creating exciting new features for your dream space. Our designers will work in close collaboration with you to assess your needs and wants, whilst also providing you with expert advice based on their years of experience. Only when you are completely satisfied with the concept, will we move forward to council consent. Once concept plans are signed off, we can provide an initial build estimate, so you have a good idea of what your project will cost. The key goal of our design team is to make you want to love your renovated home – not list it! 😀Clear accountability and leadership is key with a renovation project.
