Tech-savvy tapware: warm up indoors with the latest in kitchen innovations

Since 1947, Zip Water has been on a mission to improve the environment and lives of homeowners by providing cleaner, safer and great-tasting water. The HydroTap Cube Plus is a testament to their expertise.

The tap utilises smart technology exclusive to Zip Water. It combines patented PowerPulse™ technology, Direct DryChilling and ColdCore Carbonation with MicroPurity filtration, resulting in fresh clean water every single time. With the colder climate upon us, the PowerPulse™ boiling technology is particularly useful as it instantly delivers hot water at a consistent temperature.

“For me, there’s nothing better than coming home after a cold day, knowing that I’ve got boiling water at the touch of a button. Whether it’s a hot cup of tea or a hot chocolate, not having to wait for the kettle to boil is a treat,” says Zip Water Managing Director ANZ, Mike Abbott.

"While most people are amazed at the sparkling water function during summer, the HydroTap really comes into its own in winter. The HydroTap makes it easy to make creative hot drinks such as Spiced Cinnamon Hot Chocolate or Matcha Latte to entertain our guests during winter.”

On top of offering instant pure-tasting boiling and chilled water for total versatility all year round, the new models feature optimised aerators and upgraded hoses, resulting in improved sparkling water functionality. They have also undergone a cosmetic update, with extra touches of designer detail like a flared spout, a broader base and seven stylish finishes to suit any kitchen aesthetic.

Celebrating 75 years in the business last year, Zip Water is second-to-none in creating intelligent water appliances. The HydroTap Arc Plus features a single under-bench command centre with a full-colour interactive touchscreen display. Like its Cube Plus sibling, this tap instantly delivers boiling, chilled and sparkling water.

Mike explains that the product’s instant boiling water feature greatly reduces food preparation time – a saving grace for homeowners who want warm food during the winter without extensive effort.

“Winter is for soups, pasta and slow cooks. These meals need time for the rich, warming flavours to develop. The cooking time is reduced when [using] the HydroTap for the boiling water component of the recipe, as opposed to using the stove to get the cold water to temperature,” he  says.

“With the preparation cut down significantly, family recipes are on the table in record time – perfect for when everyone comes home after a long day of braving the elements.”

Meanwhile, keep the appliance secure with pin code protection while utilising its three saving modes: on and off timers and two-hour sleep mode. Zip Water has also included 0.2-micron water filtration and antimicrobial protection, infused into the tapware’s water paths for enhanced hygiene.
