O’Neil Architecture has announced the appointment of Senior Designer Jacinda Shirley as Co-Director, marking a natural evolution for the award-winning New Zealand practice. From this next chapter onward, the studio will be known as O’Neil + Shirley Architecture.

Having long operated at director level within the practice, Shirley has played a central role in leading projects, guiding clients and helping shape the studio’s considered design process. Her appointment formalises a position she has already held in practice, bringing continuity to the way the studio works while signalling its next phase of growth.

Shirley brings a refined design sensibility, a meticulous eye for detail and a highly organised approach across each stage of a project, from concept through to documentation.

Together with Darren O’Neil’s architectural language and intuitive creative direction, the partnership brings together two complementary strengths: vision and precision.

For clients past, present and future, the studio’s foundation remains unchanged: considered design, clear communication and architectural integrity. Under its new name, O’Neil + Shirley Architecture continues with the same values and standards that have defined the practice to date, while looking ahead to its next chapter.
