Add a splash of colour to your bathroom

In a space where we want to relax, such as the bathroom, blues and greens are always a good idea. Just as visiting the ocean or the rainforest can clear the mind, simply being in the presence of these colours can have a calming effect.

Stephan says it’s also important to observe how colours fit in with your home’s surroundings: “So you might use the blue for a beach house where you will look through the window and you can see the sky and ocean. Whereas you might use one of the greens in a country home to match the surrounding colour palette from the outside grass and trees. It depends on what you've got happening outside the house that you want to bring inside.”

While blues and greens are proving to be popular with customers of the Rockwell Collection, colours that have an energising impact are also at the top of New Zealand homeowners’ lists.

Perfect for getting motivated in the morning, red and orange add a fun splash of colour, while pink adds a feminine touch.

If you’re unsure about adding a sherbet coloured basin or bathtub to your bathroom design, the Rockwell Collection’s tapware handles are easy to swap out – whether you’re simply ready for a change, or preparing to sell your home.

“The issue with coloured bathroom tiles, appliances or vanity tops, is that if you go to sell a house the future homeowners might not like your choice of tiles or colours,” explains Stephan, with the collection’s tapware available to be purchased as a handle set and installed with the preferred colour of handles – the handles simply swapped out at any time.

“That’s why we believe in a neutral palette with a pop of colour as it appeals to a broader range of people. This extends through to our colourful toilet seats designed to exclusively suit the Water Monopoly Rockwell Toilet Pan – they can be quite vibrant and once again, if it comes time to sell and you want to change it back to a white seat to match the white toilet, it’s very simple to do.”

The Rockwell Collection certainly lends itself well to both traditional and contemporary interiors, and allows the ability to change your bathroom colour scheme without hassle.
