When it comes to tiles, there are almost endless options to choose from. A standout new addition to the New Zealand market is Tile Warehouse’s new range of Global GreenTag (GGT) certified products – the only tiles from China with this prestigious certification available in New Zealand.
Independently verified, these tiles meet the highest environmental and ethical standards, offering an affordable yet uncompromising solution for homeowners, designers, and developers aiming to achieve green building ratings like Homestar, Green Star, and LEED.
“Where green-rated products have been deemed to be more expensive in the past, customers can now choose affordable options that are also environmentally sustainable,” says Charles Hendricks, Tile Warehouse’s Architectural Surfaces Commercial Manager.
A new standard in sustainable design
Sourced exclusively from Cerasia, these tiles adhere to ISO 14001 standards, featuring low VOC emissions, reduced carbon footprint, and circular waste practices. Manufactured in solar-powered facilities and shipped directly to port, they contribute to a significant 85,000-tonne CO2 reduction annually – a major step towards lower environmental impact. Beyond eco-friendly manufacturing, these tiles reinforce ethical sourcing and fair labour practices, ensuring sustainability at every stage.
These tiles are the only GGT-certified tiles from China available in New Zealand.
Suited to today's trends, the tiles are affordable, durable, versatile and sustainable.
High performance, impressive versatility
Thanks to advanced manufacturing, the range features the all-new IN/OUT finish. This advanced technology results in a tile that feels and looks matt when dry and transforms into a slip-resistant surface when wet.
“These tiles can be used anywhere – internally and externally, on floors and walls, to create a seamless flow. They’re great for group housing, large-scale developments and commercial projects in areas that need a higher level of slip resistance but still need to be easy to clean.”
The tiles also answer to today’s trends which call for surfaces that blend form and function. Whether you’re tiling a bathroom, commercial walkway, or expansive development, there is a design for every taste.
“The range covers everything from the popular concrete look to softer, sweeping stone finishes and the timeless cross-cut and vein-cut travertine; they cater to a wide range of tastes,” says Charles.
Suitable for indoors and out, the tiles are effective in creating indoor-outdoor connection.
A game-changer for New Zealand construction and interiors
As green-rated projects gain traction across New Zealand, the cost of sustainable materials has often been a barrier.
“Traditionally, green-rated products have been so expensive it has turned people off wanting to pursue the certification. With these tiles, customers can choose responsibility and economically – with even the smallest budgets.”
The tiles have already made their mark locally, including Design Builders’ ‘The Rayburn’ showhome which recently won the National GIB Show Home category in the 2024 Master Builders House of the Year, and are used in many retirement developments.
“They’re fast becoming a firm favourite with our customers.”
This new range from Tile Warehouse proves that sustainability, style, and affordability can coexist, offering a smarter way to approach design and construction in New Zealand. Explore the collection on ArchiPro.
