Enhancing architecture and design with modern steel framed doors

Benefits of modern steel framed doors

1. Flexibility: one of the standout features of steel framed doors is the unparalleled design flexibility and customisation they offer homeowners and designers. Having bespoke statement pieces, such as arched doors or windows, in architectural projects allows builders, architects and homeowners to create noteworthy spaces.

2. Aesthetics: steel framed doors provide a sleeker, more modern aesthetic thanks to their narrow sightlines and minimalist frame profile. These features align with contemporary architectural trends, where simplicity and clean lines are highly valued.

3. Longevity: when adequately treated, steel is known for its longevity and corrosion resistance. The fluorocarbon coating process used by Zen Doors sets their products apart from traditional powder coating. This superior coating enhances durability and contributes to the doors' aesthetic appeal.

4. Customisation: customers can choose from various paint finishes to suit different architectural styles and interior designs. This versatility enhances the aesthetic appeal of steel framed doors, making them suitable for a wide range of design applications.

5. Timeless: Steel-framed doors seamlessly integrate into various architectural styles, providing a timeless appeal that complements both traditional and modern designs.

Safety benefits

In addition to their aesthetic qualities, steel framed doors offer substantial safety benefits, as highlighted by Terziovski:

1. Improved security: Steel's inherent strength enhances the security of a property, providing a robust barrier against intruders.
2. Fire-resistant: Steel's strength and non-combustible nature make steel doors fire-resistant, adding an extra layer of safety and peace of mind to any structure.

Environmental benefits

The environmental benefits of choosing steel framed doors are surprising, especially compared to traditional materials like timber. Terziovski emphasises the longevity of steel framed doors, stating that the finish lasts longer than timber, which requires ongoing maintenance—potentially resulting in reduced environmental impact, as there is no need for additional painting and solvents over time.

The Future of Housing

Terziovski believes thermally broken framed doors and windows are the future of modern building design, particularly with architects' and builders’ needing to meet the evolving energy sustainability requirements in Australia and New Zealand.

Zen Doors ensures their products meet the stringent requirements of AS2047-2014: Windows and External Glazed Doors in Buildings. Additionally, they provide the option of Thermally Broken steel frames positioning Zen Doors to meet evolving energy sustainability requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
