How to revamp your kitchen and laundry with functional storage systems that make waste recycling and home organisation a breeze

Over the years, the kitchen has evolved from a place for mere food preparation into a space for enjoying time with the family, working from home or entertaining guests. More and more people want their kitchens to be efficient and practical, but also visually appealing, making daily routines a breeze and the home a haven of organised bliss. Clever storage solutions to spruce up the humble kitchen bin unlock the true potential of these unsung heroes.

A great way to keep the kitchen clean and tidy is to conceal your rubbish in the cabinetry with clever drawer bins, which keep the kitchen floor clutter-free. The clever pull-out solutions from Tanova’s Designer Series are ideal helpers for sorting and storing recyclables and organic kitchen waste, while keeping rubbish hidden and saving kitchen floor space at the same time.

Whether for new builds or renovations, it is important to consider where to place the kitchen bins in the overall kitchen layout. It is advisable to place a kitchen bin system beside or near food-prep areas, making it easier to get food scraps into the bin without having to travel back and forth, minimising the chances of making a mess on the floor.

The Tanova Designer Series provides smooth sliding action and high-quality runner technology for effortless opening and closing every time. The integrated cushioning system ensures quiet and soft closing and automatically adapts to varying closing speeds and drawer weights.

Another great feature of these bin systems is that they are easy to clean with wipeable surfaces, avoiding nooks and crannies where dirt can accumulate.

The Tanova Designer Series and Designer Series 2 pull-out kitchen bins offer many sizes and bucket configurations to fit any kitchen design and recycling reference. Units with 20-litre and 36-litre buckets have NZ Made licences.

Recycling has become the norm for eco-conscious homeowners, and multiple bucket bins allow easy sorting and separating of kitchen rubbish. When dealing with waste, it’s smart to have separate receptacles for hard recyclables, non-recyclables and a separate one for vegetables, eggshells, and any other leftover organic waste.

Depending on the model, Tanova kitchen bin units offer two, three or four buckets to keep waste separated. This makes transferring contents to the roadside recycling or garden compost bin a breeze. Having separate bins for dry and wet rubbish will also improve your kitchen’s sanitation and hygiene. Additionally, most Tanova bin units have built-in tops to seal the bin when closed and keep the kitchen free from unpleasant smells.

Apart from the kitchen, the laundry is another crucial space in the home where good organisation can make a big difference. Tanova’s pull-out Designer Laundry Baskets offer excellent solutions for pre-sorting loads before washing, making them an ideal solution for managing this crucial space in the home. No more unsorted mountains of washing on the floor, as these practical helpers keep the laundry neat and out of sight.

Whether powder-coated steel or plastic, all baskets are vented to enable airflow and breathability. There are options for dividers, fixed fronts or cupboard styles to suit any size of laundry – small or large. All Tanova laundry units have a NZ Made licence.
