Together, the recognised projects point to the breadth of architectural practice in New Zealand today: from carefully resolved homes and small-scale interventions to commercial, public and community buildings that shape how people live, work and gather.

The awards also offer a useful snapshot of the themes defining contemporary architecture across the country: adaptive reuse, site-responsive housing, public infrastructure, cultural renewal, and a continued focus on buildings that are designed with long-term value in mind.
