Sun streams onto the patio, the water of the pool reflecting each ripple. Lines blur between indoors and out. This is a home designed to embrace Queensland’s outdoor lifestyle.

The vision of homeowner and designer Franqui Black, natural materials visually connect the interior of this home to its expansive outdoor space made for relaxation and gatherings. Bringing each space together is Slate & Stone’s Latte Travertine.

“The aim was to create a resort-style home that felt warm, inviting and connected to its outdoor surroundings. Natural materials played a big role in achieving that vision and Latte Travertine was the perfect choice,” shares Franqui.

Its beautiful, consistent colour tone complements the overall palette of the home, while also providing the timeless character that only natural stone can offer.

“We also love the feel of travertine underfoot. It brings a level of warmth and authenticity that is difficult to replicate with other materials.”

Used throughout the outdoor living areas with matching coping around the pool, Latte Travertine delivers both visual appeal and practicality. Once sealed, this natural stone is highly durable in outdoor environments and easy to maintain. These qualities made it an easy decision to specify the travertine.

“For this particular project, we did not seriously consider alternative stone options. We have used travertine on previous projects and have always been impressed with the result. In our experience, nothing quite compares to the look, feel and timeless appeal of natural travertine, making it an easy choice for this home,” adds Franqui.

This familiarity with the material streamlined the entire process, with an experienced tiler with extensive knowledge of natural stone ensuring each portion was laid with precison and care, making for an uncomplicated installation.

Tactile underfoot with a warm tone that seamlessly ties both the interior and exterior spaces, Slate & Stone’s premium Latte Travertine demonstrates the enduring appeal of natural stone in contemporary residential design. A team effort by Icon Building Design and Real Living Homes, this Buderim home has been designed and crafted as an oasis to be enjoyed for many years to come.
