Poliform opens a new chapter in Sydney

Spanning 1,100 square metres, the showroom has been conceived as more than a place to view furniture. It is an immersive environment where clients, architects and designers can experience how Poliform’s collections, materials and architectural systems come together to shape an entire interior.

The location is fitting. Once defined by industry, Alexandria has evolved into one of Sydney’s most active creative precincts, drawing together leading names in design, architecture and fashion. Within this context, the new showroom reflects both Poliform’s contemporary direction and the creative character of its surroundings.

The space unfolds as a sequence of interconnected living environments. Visitors follow a circular journey through living, kitchen, dining and bedroom settings, gaining a clearer sense of how furniture, joinery and architectural systems can establish a cohesive language throughout the home.

The journey begins with the sculptural Saint-Germain sofa before moving through an extensive gallery of kitchen systems, including Shape and Artex Pro. These are displayed less as pristine objects and more as working design laboratories. Cabinetry can be opened, finishes handled and internal mechanisms explored, revealing the precision and functionality concealed within Poliform’s restrained forms.

Material libraries further encourage this hands-on approach, allowing visitors to compare fabrics, surfaces and finishes while working with Poliform’s in-house design team. From selecting a single piece of furniture to planning a fully customised kitchen, wardrobe or commercial interior, the showroom makes the breadth of Poliform’s design service tangible.

For the first time in Australia, visitors can also experience the full scale and flexibility of the brand’s architectural systems. Wardrobes, wall systems, storage and bespoke joinery demonstrate how entire environments can be created through an integrated approach. Among the most compelling examples are freestanding systems that sit independently within a room without needing to connect to walls or ceilings, opening up greater possibilities for spatial planning.

The evening zone offers a more intimate expression of the collection. Here, a bedroom suite leads into an immersive walk-in wardrobe, where timber slats and warm, enveloping light transform storage into an architectural experience in its own right.

The showroom’s reopening was celebrated with A Sensory Journey, an event inspired by Multitude, Poliform’s multisensory exhibition staged during Milan Design Week earlier this year. Guests explored the new space through sight, sound, taste, touch and scent, accompanied by a live neo-soul, ambient and jazz performance curated by Adam Sofo of Ministry of Sound.

Italian-inspired food, a Martini bar and Penfolds wines extended the experience, while sculptural floral installations by BRAER introduced an unexpected meeting of nature and modernity. A signature Poliform fragrance, created with notes of leather and bergamot, moved through the showroom and echoed the tactile materials on display.

More than a new retail address, the Sydney showroom marks the next chapter in Poliform’s longstanding Australian presence. It is a place to discover ideas, understand materials and experience how considered furniture and architectural systems can create a complete way of living.
