5 bathware ranges packed with colour and personality

It’s being seen in all corners of design, and integrated in many ways – from paint colours to textiles and furniture. Like living rooms and kitchens, the bathroom is no different, with homeowners and designers leaning towards colourful schemes.

“This trend allows homeowners and designers to express their personality and create a more dynamic and inviting environment,” says Robertson Bathware’s James Robertson.

“Robertson Bathware has embraced this trend, which is evident in our recent catalogue. For instance, Flaminia, Alice, Apaiser, Cotto, Zucchetti, and Elementi offer bathware in an extensive range of finishes, with the ability for thousands of colour combinations.”

Create a statement

Whether you’re wanting a subtle nod to colour or a bold palette, Robertson Bathware’s range features local and international brands known for their style and creativity.

Flamina: Made in Italy, Flamina’s ceramic designs are embracing colour. The App Vessel Basin is a contemporary design available in colours like powder blue, maroon, green, and blush. Other choices from the range include the Mini Wash Vessel Basin 480 and Twin Set Vessel Basin.

Alice: The Alice Nur Basin and Equilibrium Basin make a statement in colour and form. A curvaceous, freestanding design, the Nur brings wow-factor to bathrooms and the Equilibrium is a fusion of sleep and captivating volumes.

Cotto: With colours to choose from including gloss green, gloss pink, and matt light grey, the Geo Inset Basins by Cotto are a versatile option to be styled in many bathrooms and powder rooms.

The Geo Inset Basins by Cotto are available in six different colours with varying finish options.

Zucchetti: The use of colour in the bathrooms has also extended to tapware, where chrome is no longer the leading choice. Brands like Zucchetti have options such as brushed nickel, brass, and black.

Elementi: Bringing chic tapware and bathroom furniture to the market, Elementi impresses with its use of colour, texture and form. From brass tapware and accessories to its textural, coloured concrete basins and elegant vanities, the brand welcomes character into the bathroom.

A popular choice is Elementi's BARE concrete basins. A fusion of warm pastel colours with the natural harsh elements of concrete, they create a focal point in any bathroom.

Each concrete basin is handcrafted and distinctively designed to embrace the natural properties of concrete. Custom colours are available upon request with a four week manufacturing time.

Beyond the focus on colour, sustainability is a key influence in bathroom trends.

“Many of our brands are crafted from responsibly sourced materials. These products are not only eco-friendly but also built to last, ensuring that our bathware stands the test of time. By prioritising sustainable practices, Robertson Bathware is committed to offering products that are both beautiful and environmentally responsible,” says James.

Elementi stands out with its commitment to sustainability, with all of the brand’s furniture crafted in New Zealand from locally sourced timber.

“This practice not only ensures the highest quality and sustainability of our products but also resonates strongly with our customers who value eco-friendly choices. By supporting local craftsmanship and sustainable materials, we are able to offer bathware that is both beautiful and responsible.”

Robertson Bathware sees a continuing evolution towards more sustainable solutions, alongside those that are technologically integrated.

Elementi is already demonstrating this with products such as its One Touch Thermostatic Mixers, which provide precise temperature control and enhance the overall shower experience. Smart toilets with features like heated seats and self-cleaning functions are also becoming more common, offering increased comfort and hygiene.

“One significant trend we have forecasted is the increasing popularity of e-bidets. To meet this demand, Robertson Bathware now offers a range of smart e-bidets suitable for every space and budget. These e-bidets come with advanced features such as heated seats, adjustable water temperature, and self-cleaning functions, providing enhanced comfort and hygiene.”

An example is the Fresca E-Bidet Smart Toilet – a cutting-edge, hygienic solution for the modern bathroom. With its sleek, minimalist design and intuitive controls, it seamlessly integrates into any decor, offering high customisation and user-friendly operation.

The Fresca bidet seat features instant water heating technology, offering a sleek, minimalist design and continuous warm water for enhanced comfort.

Choosing the right bathware

As well as choosing the best colours and finishes for your bathware products, it’s also essential to consider functionality and how the size and layout of your space impact the design.

“Elementi bathroom furniture offers customisable options like double drawers or concealed drawers, providing additional storage solutions that are often overlooked,” says James.
