Durable, versatile and customisable, steel framed doors have been gaining popularity in projects of all design styles.
Their unparalleled design flexibility and customisation allow them to be transformed into sleek statement pieces, where their clean, contemporary frame profile can be paired with various paint colours and hardware finishes.
Known for crafting custom architectural products, Zen has emerged as a leading manufacturer, offering homeowners and design professionals custom steel door solutions. Founded by designer John Terziovski, Zen Doors began from humble beginnings in designing and sourcing products for Terziovski’s personal development projects before seeing an opportunity to deliver unique, design-driven products to the global construction industry.
Welcome to the McArthur project featuring ZEN FPS50 Steel Frame Doors, where luxury meets innovation.
Zen Doors’ FPS 50 Galvanised Steel Frame Profile was the perfect choice for this Ivanhoe home.
“The homeowners chose a unique colour and we colour-matched a Dulux dark bronze finish.”
Art Deco meets modern design in this Ivanhoe project
With a unique colour-matched bronze finish, Zen Doors’ FPS 50 Galvanised Steel Frame Profile was selected for this recent project, working with a modern Art Deco design brief.
“The homeowners chose a unique colour and we colour-matched a Dulux dark bronze finish, as well as custom brass pull handles on the entry doors that were fabricated by Lost Profile Studio in Melbourne,” says Zen founder, John Terziovski.
“There was a combination of clear and reeded toughened safety glass used on the doors, and arches in square steel mullions were incorporated on the entry doors to complement the hallway archway.”
The black steel frame doors bring a modern touch to the Art Deco-inspired home.
The doors incorporate reeded glass for added style and privacy.
The process
As one of Zen Doors’ most popular products, the FPS 50 Galvanised Steel Frame Profile is available with many glass options including clear, rainstorm, hammered, Aquatex, reeded (fluted), course linen, pinhead and AGC Low-E.
“At Zen Doors, we understand the significance of a custom front door design to give the best impression. The secure feel of a solid custom door that is built to last cannot be replicated. From custom-made wide iron pivot doors to steel doors with glass, make a statement with a gorgeous modern pivot door designed and created by our professional team,” says Terziovski.
“Zen’s core values are based on building and nurturing relationships with our customers, with its team ready to guide you throughout the process to allow for a seamless Zen experience.

After all of the required information has been obtained, Zen will provide a free formal quotation.
“If you are happy to proceed with an order, a deposit will be required,” says Terziovski. “The next step is where you will see your order come to life via detailed shop drawings which will outline the design concept, specifications and all relevant technical information for each door or window. Throughout the shop drawing process, you will have the ability to adjust the shop drawing details and specifications before proceeding to production.”
Square steel mullions were incorporated on the entry doors to complement the hallway archway.
Custom brass pull handles were fabricated for the entry doors.
Zen has many beautiful architectural products for your next project, including steel frame doors, elegant suspended wood-burning fireplaces, marbled bathtubs, rugs and furniture.
